Please call an implementation specialist to connect and test the resolution with our demo product.&nbsp;<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"software\">Software<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This section outlines operating systems currently being used and products with an end-of-life (EOL) status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><tbody><tr><td><strong>Operating System<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Windows 10 (Valid until Oct 14, 2025)&nbsp;<br>(https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/lifecycle\/products\/windows-10-home-and-pro)&nbsp;<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Apple OS X 12+&nbsp;<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Windows 11&nbsp;<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>IMPORTANT: C9 agent is not compatible with Apple OS X (Mac).<\/strong> C9 agent is used for various services including connection to x-ray machines, document scanners, Topaz signature devices, and in some cases, printers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">End-of-Life<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Microsoft issued end-of-life (EOL) status for the following:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Windows 7 <\/strong>on January 14, 2020&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Windows Vista <\/strong>on April 11, 2017&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Windows 8 <\/strong>on January 12, 2016&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For these EOL products, Cloud 9:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Cannot guarantee future compatibility <\/strong>with future versions of Cloud 9<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Has ended its support <\/strong>of these EOL products.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"browser\">Browser<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This section outlines browser recommendations and support for Cloud 9.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><tbody><tr><td><strong>Platform<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>Recommended:<br>Latest Version<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>Supported:<br>Latest Version<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Windows&nbsp;<\/td><td>Chrome&nbsp;<br>MS Edge<\/td><td>Chrome&nbsp;<br>MS Edge<br>Firefox<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Mac<\/td><td>Chrome<\/td><td>Chrome<br>Safari<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>iPad<\/td><td>Safari<\/td><td>Chrome<br>Safari<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Android<\/td><td>Chrome<\/td><td>Chrome<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"network\">Network<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This section provides important information about office connectivity to the internet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Internet Connections<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Each office requires its <strong>own dedicated connection to the Internet<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Your office\u2019s <strong>IP needs to be static<\/strong> during office hours.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Offices with existing <strong>non-cable-based internet connection services should consider switching to cable service<\/strong>.&nbsp;\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Cable service offers higher down\/up speeds as compared to other service options (e.g., T1, ADSL, ADSL2+, DSL).&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Minimum upload and download speed requirements <\/strong>at each office location may vary based on office acceptable use policies, the number of systems at each location and various use cases, etc.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>When deciding how much bandwidth is needed, 1 Mb\/s download rate for each computer and 0.5 Mb\/s upload per computer are our minimum recommendations.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Larger offices are not expected to have an upload speed above 20 Mb\\s.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Offices using Voice over IP (VoIP) should consider setting up network-based quality of service controls <\/strong>to ensure office-based internet usage doesn\u2019t affect the quality of the VoIP.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cloud 9 recommends, but does not require, that <strong>all offices have a secondary internet service provider. <\/strong>Speak with your local IT consultant for additional guidance.&nbsp;\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The primary and secondary service <strong>should not <\/strong>be using the same connection type.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If using cable as the main provider, <strong>a Wi-Fi hot-spot from a cell phone carrier or DSL as the secondary service could be used<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cloud 9 <strong>does not recommend using VPN or any third-party connection to connect to the internet<\/strong>. Doing so may cause performance and\/or printing problems.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Local Area Network<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Assess office-based network hardware and its related physical connectivity.<\/strong>&nbsp;Over time, offices may move equipment and re-connect equipment (e.g., damaged or loose cables, misconfigurations, etc.). As a result, this can negatively affect the performance of Cloud 9 practice management software.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Ensure the latest firmware updates are installed on all network equipment. <\/strong>Firmware refers to the operating system on a hardware device. Outdated firmware can result in odd and hard-to-troubleshoot user experiences due to faulty device code.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"equipment\">Peripheral Equipment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This section provides guidelines for printers, scanners and imaging devices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Printers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Most newer generation printers should work with Cloud 9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Check manufacturer documentation for compatibility for printers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure the printer\u2019s driver can handle custom paper sizes.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Printers need to be either:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Directly connected to user systems <strong>OR <\/strong>be configured to sit on\/connect to the network in a stand-alone way&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>C9 Agent <\/strong>is an optional program to facilitate print management. <strong>Must be installed on a Windows-based PC; it is not compatible with MacOS.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Recommended Printers&nbsp;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A <strong>printer <\/strong>that allows for <strong>customized paper size<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Dymo Label Writer <\/strong>and a <strong>Dymo print server<\/strong>, especially for the MacOS environment. The Dymo print server is inexpensive and overcomes many obstacles of Dymo paper size issues.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Laser printers <\/strong>are recommended for bulk and color printing.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Scanners and Imaging Devices<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note: <\/strong>Cloud 9 currently does not store 3D images or models. However, compressed versions can be stored in the Cloud 9 document cabinet if the corresponding viewer is installed on the machine where the compressed versions will be viewed.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">TWAIN Driver<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>C9 Agent must be installed with the appropriate TWAIN driver (for Xray machines and scanners) to be able to import documents\/images directly into Cloud 9 without first copying the document to the system\u2019s desktop.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>TWAIN drivers are available for most PC-based digital machines.<\/strong>&nbsp;<br>Contact the device\u2019s manufacturer to inquire about compatibility and supportability.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cloud 9 currently cannot integrate with a TWAIN driver on Apple devices.<\/strong>&nbsp;You can still scan on a MAC but will have to use Cloud 9\u2019s import feature instead of acquire feature.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If <strong>Carestream imaging software <\/strong>is being used, contact <strong>Carestream <\/strong>support to <strong>get special instructions to follow to use a TWAIN driver<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>To use Cloud 9\u2019s acquire function for TWAIN drivers, Cloud 9 <strong>requires <\/strong>the My<strong> <\/strong>Documents folder to point at the local system\u2019s hard drive.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>For networked office environments,<\/strong> the My Documents folder on systems may be mapped to a network drive. In those cases, the offices would need to use the Cloud 9 import function instead of the acquire function.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Monitors<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Cloud 9 is designed to work in a wide screen layout.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hardware Software Browser Network Peripheral Equipment Hardware Cloud 9 may require other third-party software for unique business purposes; e.g., models, tracing and presentations, and require additional hardware.
